In the month of December, I had the pleasure of shooting with the Hasselblad 1XDI. I was able to travel, work on personal projects and just shoot adventurously - learning the ins-and-outs of the camera.
Firstly, because of its slow focus, it allows you to think about your shot ahead of time, making me more patient during the process; this I believe makes you more prepared for the shot (an amazing feeling by the way).
Secondly, The 50-megapixel medium format sensor produces large file size photos, which slowed down my photo-taking process in more positive ways. I found myself only taking photos of exactly what I wanted and nothing else. Usually, I’m scatterbrain and just tend to shoot more photos in order to have options, but with the Hasselblad, I had to force myself to be more confident and decisive in my photo taking. Which worked!
Thirdly, my experience with the Hasselblad has been great overall, I found myself taking photos of things I don’t usually take and my editing time increased because I was just astounded by the amount of detail and range of the photos I took; an enjoyable experience overall.
To conclude, I enjoyed every moment with the Hasselblad and I learned so much from using it and I am very grateful I was granted such an incredible piece of hardware. Please enjoy the photos below taken from the camera.
